Drawing and Painting the Figure with Motion and Emotion – Online Workshop

This three day workshop is designed by Bob Burridge and his model Pash to challenge you not to paint what you see – instead, you will be painting what you perceive and feel. Drawing skills are not a prerequisite for this workshop.

On the first day, we will explore Undraped and Costumed Poses, starting with 5 minute poses, working up to 20 minutes.
Expect to work with a variety of drawing materials, acrylic paint and surfaces.

Day two is all about painting Pash in motion and with emotion – Learn to paint the essence of movement and emotion, where Pash, draped and undraped, will offer poses that suggest a variety of everyday and–also not-so-everyday!— actions to paint.

Day three the focus is on Dance Drawing and Painting… Learn to capture live motion in your painting, as Pash dances very slowly, settling into poses. The process of painting the figure in actual motion helps you get out of your head and flow along with the slow dance movement to free up your style and provide the essence of real live-movement. Pash is a contact improvisational dancer who incorporates elements of alternative dance and movement including butoh, 5-Rhythms, and physical theater into her movements.
